Digital Medieval Studies - A Bibliography

  • Digital Medievalist - an international web community for medievalists working in the digital humanities.
  • The Canterbury Tales Project - a living and outstanding digital edition of the CT by a pioneering team of digital medievalists. An excellent resource that collates all extant manuscripts into a single digital edition.
  • Middle English Compendium at the Univ. of Michigan - Several great resources navigable from this site: the online Middle English Dictionary, an electronic bibliography, and a collection of Middle English prose and poetry accessible online.
  • The DM Project - Best description is on the site: DM "is a suite of tools, enabling scholars to gather and organize the evidence necessary to support arguments based in digitized resources. DM enables users to mark fragments of interest in manuscripts, print materials, photographs, etc. and provide commentary on these resources and the relationships among them."
  • UCLA Catalogue of Digitized Manuscripts
  • Internet Medieval Sourcebook at Fordham - great digital collection of a range of medieval texts, though largely legal, hagiographical, and Church texts.
  • Medieval Electronic Multimedia Organization - a group for medievalists interested in medievalisms in contemporary media.
  • Medieval Electronic Scholarly Alliance - Among other things, an excellent search engine that aggregates digital artifacts and research available online.
